WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
This is an exhibition to share with the visitor the history of fell running and the joy of running on the fells.
We will explore why people run on the fells with the purpose to inspire people from all backgrounds and ages who can run to get out on the Lake District fells.
The Exhibition will incorporate:
- A look at the history of Lake District fell running to the present day
- Equipment of fell running over the years
- Lake District fell running films
- Stories both audio, written and lots of photos from fells runners
- Maps and fell running routes (plus a new long distance running the fell challenge)
- Memorabilia from fell running
- Area to display your running on fells pictures and stories
- Something for the kids to do whilst at the exhibition
- Monthly themed events to highlight areas of running on the fells
Hi I'm Olga a fell runner from Preston. I enjoy going going for run and although not fast just being out in the countryside is fantastic. As a hobby I decided to make videos of my runs and post on YouTube to share my enjoyment whilst out running. Hope you enjoy my video on why i like running on the fells and countryside to help promote the exhibition coming to Ambleside in 2024 called "Running Int Fells".
